Winemaker Notes
Our 2019 Russian River Valley Pinot noir is a great example of a balanced Russian River Valley Pinot noir. A translucent light purple/red hue in the glass; the nose is complex with red fruit, backing spices, and earthy aromas. The mouthfeel and flavor profile are a perfect balance of fruit, acid, spice, and light supple tannins. Blended from two of our vineyards (Hogan’s Run and Moore Family Vineyard), this vintage was aged in 40% new oak and came from 667, 777, and Pommard clones of Pinot noir. Hand punch downs were conducted twice daily during fermentation.
Vineyards
The 2019 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir was produced using fruit from two vineyards in the AVA: Moore Family vineyard and Hogan’s Run vineyard. The two vineyards are each in different corners of the Russian River Valley AVA and thus each have their own unique characteristics and impacts to the fruit and finished wine.
